Video Shows Missing Young Mom Hours After She Left Her New Westminster Home

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 31 Oct, 2016 09:43 AM
VANCOUVER — The family of a missing 32-year-old woman from New Westminster, B.C., hopes surveillance video found over the weekend offers new leads.

It shows Florence Leung buying several items at a convenience store in Vancouver's West End.

The video was taken shortly after 6 p.m., last Tuesday, several hours after the mother of a two-month-old boy was seen driving away from her home.

The items Leung purchased were found later in her car in Stanley Park, prompting a search last week of the park, the Lions Gate Bridge and parts of West Vancouver.

No sign of Leung has been found, and there's concern for her well-being, because her family believes she may be suffering from post-partum depression.

Leung's husband Kim Chen says he and Leung were very happy as they awaited the birth of their first child.

"We were married for two years. We always wanted to have children and build a family. And everything was perfect, everything was bliss," he says.

The family has been told a Vancouver police officer will speak to the convenience store operator as the investigation continues.
