Wildfire That Shut Down Highway In Interior B.C. Is Under Control: Officials

    KEREMEOS, B.C. — A wildfire that shut down a highway in British Columbia's southern Interior is now under control.
     
    The B.C. Wildfire Service says the fire west of Keremeos grew to about 1.5 hectares in size.
     
    The service sent three firefighters to assist local crews.
     
    Fire information officer Kelsey Winter says the blaze is under investigation but is believed to be human-caused.
     
    Drive B.C. says Highway 3 is closed in both directions about eight kilometres west of Keremeos.
     
    An assessment is in progress and no detour is available.
