Stampeders Coach John Hufnagel Ok With Players Having Sex Before Grey Cup

The Canadian Press , 27 Nov, 2014 11:44 AM
VANCOUVER — John Hufnagel is all for the Calgary Stampeders scoring off the field prior to the Grey Cup.

Hufnagel and Kent Austin of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats were asked Wednesday at the annual Grey Cup coaches conference the traditional question regarding their views on players having sex leading up to Sunday's game at B.C. Place.

"The recurring theme or words that have come out of my players mouths from the start of training camp is to finish," the Calgary coach/GM said with a smile, drawing laughter from reporters in the room. "I would hope they would have that same directive this week."

Once again, Austin took the moral high road. Last year he politely declined answering the question while Saskatchewan head coach Corey Chamblin responded, "If they win the championship, they'll have a lot."

"I've been saved two years in a row with great answers by the opposing coach, so I don't really have to comment," Austin said. "I would say that my wife was at the last Grey Cup, like she is this week, and I decline to answer that because we did lose the last Grey Cup.

"So I've got to be careful whichever way I answer that because she's listening."
