Vancouver Whitecaps Sign Veteran Welsh Striker Robert Earnshaw

    VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Whitecaps have signed former Welsh international striker Robert Earnshaw.

    The 33-year-old joined the Whitecaps on trial during the pre-season. He previously played in MLS for Toronto FC and the Chicago Fire.

    The Zimbabwe-born Earnshaw has also played for Cardiff City, West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City, Derby County, Nottingham Forest, Blackpool and Israel's Maccabi Tel Aviv.

    Earnshaw has retired from international football, with 16 goals in 59 games for Wales.
