Maple Batalia Arts Scholarship and Pink Orchid Studio raised $7,000 for the Maple Batalia Memorial Scholarship For The Arts
that provides an opportunity for up and coming South Asian-Canadian female artists to pursue and fulfil their artistic dreams – all of which Maple had for herself.

Maple Batalia was a gifted usual artist, actor, model and aspiring doctor who died tragically in Surrey, BC, in a senseless act of violence in 2011. The breadth of Maple’s work as an artist and performer provide young South Asian diasporic women with inspiration and motivation to look within themselves to harness and refine their creative talents. Maple embedded a fierce dedication to her art and craft(s).

Additional donations can be made to Maple’s memorial scholarship through Emily Carr. You can  donate now online. If you know someone who is suffering through domestic violence, emotional or physical abuse you can call VictimLinkBC at 1-800-563-0808 or email at VictimLinkBC@bc211.ca
