27-Year-Old Daniel O'Connor Killed In Black Bear Attack While Camping With Fiancée

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 12 May, 2015 12:52 PM
MACKENZIE, B.C. — The BC Coroners Service says a black bear was responsible for the death of a 27-year-old man who had been camping in northern B.C.

The service says Daniel O'Connor of Mackenzie, B.C., had been camping about 10 kilometres outside the municipality with his fiancee when he was killed.

The woman was sleeping in their motorhome and O'Conner had been outside near the firepit.

Spokeswoman Barb McLintock says the man's fiancee went for help Sunday morning.

RCMP and conservation officers confirmed the injuries O'Connor suffered were consistent with a black bear attack.

The bear believed responsible for the attack was located and destroyed.
