  • Burnaby RCMP need the public's help in finding missing man Rajesh Verma

Burnaby RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 65-year-old Rajesh Verma. Rajesh was last seen by family in the 8800-block of Armstrong Avenue at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022.

 Rajesh is described as:

  • 5’6” tall
  • South Asian 
  • Balding with grey hair
  • Brown eyes

Rajesh was last seen wearing:

  • White long sleeve shirt
  • Black runners (with white soles)
  • Dark blue pants

It is out of character for Rajesh to not check in with family for this amount of time and they are very concerned.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen Rajesh or have information on his whereabouts to call the Burnaby RCMP.  It they wish to remain anonymous, they can call Crime Stoppers.

Just two days later, the same owner reported he had found what appeared to be a Molotov cocktail device inside his house, but the container had not ignited. Police say they reviewed video surveillance and arrested a suspect in his mid-40s who remains in custody.

When the officers stopped to investigate, one of the men tried to walk away and stash a bag inside a second car that was parked nearby. Officers discovered a 9mm pistol, ammunition, and a variety of controlled substances in that man’s possession.
