Darpan News Desk IHIT, 19 Aug, 2022 10:48 AM
  • Overnight stabbing in Surrey leaves man dead: IHIT

On Thursday night at 10:00 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to the report of a stabbing near 184 Street and Fraser Highway.

Frontline officers arrived on scene and located a 45-year-old man suffering from serious injuries.

The man was transported to hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Service attended the scene and located one person who was taken into police custody and transported to Surrey RCMP cells.

Via release, the Mounties say initial indications are that there was a confrontation involving the victim and several other parties prior to the stabbing.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with Surrey RCMP.

The area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for an undetermined amount of time while police work to gather evidence.
