Road closures due to Whalley collision

Surrey RCMP is on scene of a serious collision in Whalley which is causing traffic disruptions in the area.

On Thursday at after 1:30pm Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a semi-truck in the southbound lanes of King George boulevard just north of 104 Avenue. The pedestrian has been transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation is in the early stages and police are working to determine all circumstances that led to this collision.

The driver of the truck remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

There are single lane closures on both on the northbound and southbound side of King George boulevard between 104 Avenue and 105 Avenue. Drivers travelling in the area can expect delays and should consider alternate routes.

In this incident, the suspect is described as a Caucasian woman between the ages of 20-30, 5’10 tall, long brown hair, slim build, wearing gold hoop earrings, a white top, tattoos on her left forearm, and having an accent.
