  • Skin-Your Window to Inner Beauty
Summer is almost over and it does leave a visible memory not only on our minds but also on our skin. The condition of your skin is linked to both internal and external factors of your body.We immediately associate glowing skin and a clear complexion with good health. The condition of the skin of your face especially is very revealing. It indicates you how much you value yourself in terms of your health and external care.

There is no magic that can make your spots, pimples, wrinkles and lines disappear overnight but not to worry there is a way by which you can rejuvenate you skin.Dermatologists, cosmetologists and beauty experts all agree that regular skincare is the only way in avoiding most of the skin problems and delaying the ageing process. So clean tone, moisturize and nourish your skin everyday.

We normally use soap and water but do you know that most soap have alkaline ingredients that remove the natural oils and moisturizers needed for the skin. Even excessive washing will reduce the acid balance of the skin thereby encouraging the growth of skin bacteria. The cleansing procedure followed should prevent the accumulation of dead epithelial cells and remove them completely. If not removed the buildup of these cells could lead to the skin texture becoming unevenly thick and the skin gets darker leading to discolouration.

This affects the skin tone and gives a blotchy appearance (Shaiyan). The skin begins to dry quickly and that leads to wrinkles and premature ageing. The tendency towards blackheads is another resultant problem as cellular buildup and the much needed skin pores gets blocked.

Common Skin problems:

Acne: Acne is one of the most common skin problems that really affect the beauty of the skin, it occurs due to excessive secretion of sebum, a few features of acne should be borne in mind -acne spreads if neglected and can cause extensive scarring. Acne can be controlled easily. If you have acne you should seek advice of a professional skincare person.

For oily skin, acne related problems cleaning of the skin is most important. If you have blackheads you need deep pore cleansing, product like peeling mask is excellent. Treatment like microdermabrasion is also beneficial. Use of certain natural products like Eliminator Spray for pimples, Naturally Slim and Ignited for acne scars on a daily basis helps in reducing the skin surface oil. Thereby cleaning the skin and keeping it healthy.

Pigmented /Discoloration of Skin (Shaiyan): In the lower layer of the epidermis are cells known as melanocytes, which produce melanin, the pigment that gives the skin its color. Melanin actually protects the skin from the damage caused by the sun’s ultraviolet rays. When the skin is exposed to the sun, melanin production increases and the skin gets tanned. The melanin that is produced in the basal layer is transferred to the upper layers of the epidermis. This is when the discoloration takes place. It is also known as Chloasma.

Chloasma (Shaiyan) is a problem of dark patches or collection of spots on the skin. It is common among women who are pregnant. That is why it is also called “Pregnancy Mask”. It also occurs in women who take oral contraceptives or even during menopause. Some men too face a similar problem. The actual cause is yet not known, but sun exposure is responsible for its development.

Hyper pigmentation of the skin has also been related to acne, electrolysis, exposure to chemical pollutants, perfume or perfumed cosmetics, hormonal imbalance and ageing.Intensive moisturisation procedures may be needed if necessary. Creams like Naturally Slim and Ignited will be beneficial if used as per professional guidance.

Enlarged Pores: If you have oily skin, it is important to keep the pores free of sebum. This can be done by deep pore cleansing with cleaning grams like peeling mask, mud mask and flash mask. Regular use of certain creams would discourage whiteheads and blackheads. Instead of a soap use face mousse cleanser.

Dark Circles under the eye: This is a common problem caused by lack of sleep, fatigue, stress or diet defiency. It is also a good indicator of the internal health. Use of vitamin C serum, Active eye décolleté cream and eyelift mask can take care of this problem if used on a regular basis.
